| -[WARNING]- This is more of a scientific poll, not a religious one. I do not care if you don't think the Big Bang happened or if the universe will never end, I really don't. Also, feedback might follow any ideas on the end of the universe, do not take this feedback personally. -[WARNING]-
Okay, this is a poll on how you think the universe will end.
The options are as follows:
The Big Cruch: The expanding universe will eventually stop and begin to collapse on itself due to gravity. The universe will then become a singularity, which has a size of 0 and a density of infinity.
The Big Rip: The expanding universe will continue to expand until it becomes so large everything, quarks(, which are what makes up atoms,) will be torn apart.
The Big Freeze: The expanding universe will never make it to the Big Rip. Instead, it will beging to become colder and colder until it reaches absolute zero*.
*Absolute zero is when ALL motion stops.
Other: If you have another/more idea(s) on the end of the universe please feel free to share you idea(s)!

| Don't worry, the universe will not end of a while, you'll be long gone. Our solar system will be dead by then also. | |

| We don't even know if it's expanding or contracting, so no way to tell really. Ow yes, it WILL end, and we will all end with it, unless paralel universes exist (tho I'm no big fan of that theory)
Tbh, I wouldn't care how the universe will end, as I'm certain we'll end a long long time before the universes's "life" ends.
It would make sense to me, tho, that it will end in a big crunch. For in the big crunch you'd find the materials necesary for the future big bang, or better said, the next universe after ours.

| Actually, the universe is expanding and that has been proven because the internal temperature of the universe is decreasing and because galaxies are moving further away from eachother.
The possibility of other universes is very, very likely.
As for the big crunch being more possible, don't think of what's more likely to create other universes, pretty much every possible end of the universe creates another if not more universes.
Lets take the big freeze, for example. If the big freeze happens it will pretty much create chaos in the universe and the universe will have to fix the chaos. In order to do that it will most likely create more universes, smaller than ours, but still more.

| I've heard that the Paralel Universe Theory was actually proven. How, I dunno. And yes, you're right about the big freeze, I've never thought about it that way. However, the big freeze is, in my opinion, the very expanding of the universe, as achieving 0 degrees kelvin can only be achieved if stars are waaay to scattered across the universe to heat up anything. And I'm not sure about multiple universes.
What you say is that, if the big freeze occurs, we'll be getting a bundle of universes. Ok, but the big freeze could only occur if a massive expansion is occuring. So that would only mean that the bits and pieces of the universe that are being slung away from the "center" of the universe will meet up at some point, creating chunks of gravity, or, more understanable, fluctuations in gravity which might spare some worlds from total freeze. This wouldn't create multiple universes, only large, if not huge, clusters of galaxys that are separated by massive distances. If we were to think on a huge scale, we could even consider our universe to be such a "bundle" of galaxy (bundle being EXTREMELY relative here). Tho, knowing of the Event of Horizons (dunno how to say it in english), that's probably over exagerated. The universe may not be physically limited, but it is certainly temporally limited (as in limited by time)

| Actually, it won't freeze Quite the oposite actually. The suns' hidrogen(or was it helium? meh, my knoledge in astronomy is vague) supply will run out, and in response, it will start looking for more, expanding. By expanding, it will become more and more hot, as it's hidrogen source nearly depletes. Eventually it will grow to such a size that it will collapse on its own gravity, thus practially incinerate all the inner planets, and most likely striping Jupiter and Saturn of their gaseous clouds, and even de-freeze pluto (for a brief period of time). | |

| Suriyawong, I have recently just been told of the big freeze. I honestly don't know much about it and I do plan on googling it soon. All I know is that it will most likely create new universes. I'm not sure how but if you really need to know you can google it. - Quote :

By massive expansion do you mean that the entire universe is stretching? If so... it is. - Quote :

Do not think about a "center of the universe." Instead, think of a balloon with dots painted on it. As you blow the balloon up, the dots expand away from eachother. There is no "center" because each dot is expanding away from every other dot. The universe is a lot like that balloon. There is no defined center.

The sun is a mixture of hydrogen and helium, from what I know. It also has some more gasses, but mostly hydrogen. FUN FACT: The larger the star the faster it dies. This is because the larger the star is, the more fuel it uses.

| Yes, I'm familiar with the baloon theory. However, it's wrong, as it depicts the numerous galaxys of the universe on one circular surface. We'd have to think of the galaxys that are closer to the "center" of the baloon, if you may(by closer I mean to picture the baloon as a big basketball, where you can have dots not only on the surface of the ball, but inside the ball itself). They'd be pushed away from the "center" faster then the outer galaxys, so they'd eventually meet, creating "clusters". And ye, I know there's no such thing as the center, but I couldn't find another term. Yes, by big massive expansion I ment universe stretching, and the Big Rip is virtually the same thing as the Big Freeze, since in the Big Rip things will become so far from each other they'd eventually reach absolute 0. NOT-SO-FUN FACT: If the dying star is big enough, when it implodes it converts into a black hole... Yippy! BTW, our galaxy is known to have a gigantic black hole in it's center! Ow the joy! Interesting thing about stars is that, when they die, they can convert into neutron stars, which are basically "small" (by small I meam aproximately the size of the earth) that are EXTREMELY dense (think of the entire weight of the Earth compressed into a football stadium). Those neutron stars, which are far far far far far far too dense, have an "atmosphere" of around 2 inches. Also, if they stray near a star, they'll start ripping that star from it's outer layers of Hidrogen... thus creating THE most BRIGHT thing in the whole universe (apart from Super Novas, ofc ). Theese incredibly bright stars don't last long, obviously, but they're quite a sight! | |

WTF are you talking about, that's a very fun fact! Ya, I also believe that neutron stars are like a lighthouse, they have a beam of light rotating around them. Correct me if I'm wrong, because I might just be thinking that I heard/read that somewhere.

| Well, they get that collumn of light when they get near a star. They're quite dim otherwise. | |

| I don't think it would collapse... but it might be partially destroyed if another galaxy runs into the Milky Way.
By the way, did you know there's a chance that the highest number of planets with intelligence in the Milky Way is 10? It's either 10 or somewhere in the high millions.

A singularity is presumes the size of a Thumbnail, not 0

A singularity is presumes the size of a Thumbnail, not 0 Actually, it was presumed the size of zero. Sadly, anything dealing with zero and infinity usually has some problems. Therefore they changed it to be very, very small. I guess we can just agree on the fact that a singularity has the potential size of a Thumbnail to zero.
