Lillium Killsnight

Like most Night Elves, Lillium held citizenship in Teldrassil, having been born there following the births of her 2 older brothers, Tasso and Esaa. Before her birth, Lillium’s mother and father took different roads, her mother living in Shadowglen while her father became a sentinel of Darnassus. Growing in loneliness, her father quickly became the whore craving drunk of the city, leading to his dishonorable discharge and banishment from the city.

Sadly, Lillium was deprived of the childhood given to most young girls. Her mother turned her sorrow and humiliation into a world of overdosing on pain medicines and chasing after other woman’s husbands for company. Because of her mother’s sick obsession for attention, Lillium underwent countless trips to the local medical center, having to be sent to the larger center in Darnassus several times. The Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy that her mother had developed led to Lillium suffering sever burns down her legs, ingestion of faeces, deep cuts across her back, concussions, internal bruising and breaking several major bones such as her collar bone, arms, knee and ribs.

Being kept indoors for most her life, unable or too sick to go outside, Lillium kept company with her Grandmother’s medical and spell books, quickly becoming consumed within the pages.

Her mother, in one last act of severe depression and desperation, decided to end it for herself and her 3 small children. During the night, Lillium was awoken, with surprising tenderness. Her mother grabbed her daughter by the hand and led her away from the house. Lillium was unaware of where her brothers were, or why her mother was even leading her quietly through the town.

Quickly making her way to the two ponds located near the middle of Shadowglen, her mother kept a tight grip on her hand. Confused and tired, Lillium only followed her mother as she was pulled into the chilling water. Now as both of them were neck deep, treading water, her mother took in a short breath, staring her daughter in the eyes. “I wont beat a dead dog.” Were the words that slipped from her lips as Lillium’s eyes swelled with tears, making it difficult to focus on her mother’s aged and weary face.

Before she could respond, she felt water splash up onto her face as her mother wrapped her arms around her. Unable to tread the water around her, she felt her and her mother’s body begin to sink into the dark water. Once she could feel the top of her head become cold she opened her eyes, watching in numbness as her mother dragged both of them down. Looking around rapidly, Lillium spotted 2 unclear figures lying at the bottom. Her heart jumped into her throat as he lips involuntarily parted, releasing bubbles filled with air and bile. She knew where her brothers were.

Closing her mouth quickly to conserve air, her mother seemed to be a little less close now. Her mother had lost more oxygen then she had on purpose, trying to end it faster. Slipping in grip, Lillium was released from her mother’s arms as they became more limp. Having held the air in her lungs, the young night elf was lifted to the surface of the pond.

Scrambling from the water, she clawed at the muddy, chilled ground, ripping through the grass to pull herself away from the frightful water. Taking horrifically deep gasps, her heart raced, pounding in her forehead. Unsure if it were tears or lake water dripping from her face, Lillium bit her bottom lip, tasting blood. Clenching her fists, she felt her palms scoop up the soil. Arching her back slightly, afraid of vomiting, the girl let out a scream of anger more then pain.

After only minutes, Lillium was found by a few of the villagers. Asking her what had happened was useless, she was too busy shaking to open her mouth and form words, but smelling the pond water on her and trying to dry her soaked body, they all could guess.

A year after the incident, Lillium decided to leave the care she had been under in the medical center, always under the eyes of the doctors and nurses, not trusting her alone in fear that she would try finishing what her mother had started. They discharged her from the hospital to help her find her Grandmother. The one and only time she found comfort in her life was when she was left alone, reading her Grandmother’s books. Finding her Grandmother, and training under her Priestly ways was the only thought that came to mind when she thought of happiness.

Now, 119, still young, well trained but still scared, Lillium simply wondered from capital to capital, land to land in search for another place of happiness. She is currently following an elite group of mercenaries, hoping to escape the thoughts of Teldrassil.
