As a kid he lived with his mother only. Anything about his father is yet unknown to him.
His childhood with his mother was tough and lonely, which draw great lines in his personality.
His mother wasn't just this casual mother, she was disturbed in her head, which meant that Velandil often had to defend her, when other kids spoke bad of her. He even had to take care of her, more than she had to take care of him..
His tolerance toward strangers shrinked to the size of being careless.

Suspect His arrogant personality was now a great part of him. He one day stubbled upon a traveling witch doctor. Seeing him meditate he laughed upon him. As a punishment, the witch doctor hexed and cursed him into the size of a doll, trying to sell him and make atleast some profit out of him! As the witch doctor didn't suceed in seeling him, he went on and left Velandil on the road. From there he was picked up by a rich spoiled girl, who later on was to be the one who released him from his curse.
