| There I am again with another idea. Since I don't have too much time I won't be able to post all of my stuff I have in mind, but I'll describe this WoW-game for the guild I "created":
A race! Yes, lawl.
Might sound awkward and not-possible, but I figured something out. So, after everything is arranged, people can say on the forum if they want to join untill date X. Then the race starts in WoW, on place whatever.
Some rules: no speedhacking, no teleporting and no mounts unless they say you can. You can use potions, skills, enchants, items or whatever you wish.
So, everyone gathered at place whatever. Participants and a few companions. These companions don't do the race, they follow the participants on mounts to check if they don't break any rules. Of course it's not possible to check them all, but just in general. The companions are not allowed to help the player when he/she gets attacked by mobs nor by hordes, he/she can only defend him/herself.
Since it's not possible to control everyone, there will also be someone to keep an eye on the map, this being one of the inspectors. They check out if people don't go unbelievably fast. If they do, they'll get disqualified of course.
Well, that's all for rules and check people out.. For the race itself, the plan is to travel to location random for the first. You'll reach this location by travelling through mountains, water, horde places, lots of mobs - however you can go the way you want. If you know a shortcut, use it. Once you're at that place, an inspector will be there to assure you got to that place, and he/she will tell you where to go next. Probably there will be a part where you can use mounts. No Outland, because it's easy with a flying mount.
That's it less or more. It's reasonable and fun to do, but only when we have active and thrustfully people to participate and help the organisation.

| PRetty good idea. Never been one for races and it will take alot to controll it. But its good.
Only thing is we have no REAL prize that would make people want to do it. UNless of course we offer ranks. Then again they should be earned?

| I'm double posting now because I figured some possible rewards out, once an admin is online he can combine both posts. Anyway, some things which might be possible:
A) Gold or item reward in-game.
B) A special forum or in-game rank.
C) More special forum or in-game ranks: win one game and you get rank 1, win another game and you get rank 2 and so on.
D) Earn points to get special ranks or rewards: you'll get 1 point after winning and after 5 points (just examples!) you can hand them in to get a special rank or another reward.
E) There is ONE rank for the best racer. Winner gets this rank. When another race occurs, only one person will be able to get this rank and kick the previous one off - however, this player can also join to defend his/her rank, and maybe win for the second time and keep his rank.
Oh, and we still have the Wall of Fame of course! ^^

| ailita you forgot about something since we both know how to hack, you should have figured out that with hacks you can choose how fast you want to run. that means if a hunter decides to hack he'll activate aspect of cheeta (+30% speed) BUT he'll activate a hack which will make him run with 40-45% faster and nobody will notice it. Besides even if they don't hack, hunters, shamans, druids and priests have the biggest chance to win ( aspect of cheeta(hunters), ghostwolf(shamans), travelform(60%! faster for druids :S) and levitation(priests). but in general it's a cool idea ^^ | |

| 1) Nearly no-one knows to hack. 2) Nearly no-one who knows to hack dares to hack. 3) IF people hack, it can be spotted by good-looking inspectors or a speed-detecting addon, and they'll get disqualified.
I know some classses have advangates. But they all have something, so it makes things fair again. A shaman hs his ghost wolf, a rogue can sprint, a priest can go over water and so all, everyone with their own advantages. Not to mention items/enchants/talents/...

| If this was to happen then sprint, hunters special and spells alike would not be allowed. I'm guessing this is basicly a race for the people who know WoW better an can avoid going the wrong way/hitting walls?? | |

| a race without using skills would be good but there should be some players on mounts to check the priests ( and ofcourse others :p ) | |

| Of course we need to understand that rogues can sprint for examle, and thus don't worry when they go 70% faster for 15-30 seconds. (30 seconds with a subtalent)
Of course it also goes for picking the right way and avoiding fences, trees and whatnot.
I suggested that some guys indeed follow the racers on their mounts to check them up. Not too much though, it's impossible to look after everyone.
We could also say that nobody is allowed to use skills if you want. But still you'll see advantages coming from talents, items or enchants.
