The Story of Oaken Windthistle-[I will be constantly updating my background incase we have new recruits and they want to know what has happened.]-
First, I'll tell you a little bit of information that really doesn't matter too much:
Age: 612 (and still young!
)
Birthplace: Darnassus, Teldrassil
Sex
: Male
Class: Druid
Parents: Neverial and Orion Windthistle
Ever since Oaken was a young Night Elf, he was fascinated by the art of Druids. To control nature and be at balance with it, it intrigued him very much. So Oaken started training as a Druid. Naturally gifted in the Feral Arts, he excelled in this aspect of training, choosing to leave Balance and Restoration untouched, to an extent ofcourse. After he advanced beyond what his master could teach him, he visited the animal spirits in Moonglade.
Still young, he figured they could teach him more ways to become more powerful. But he was wrong. The spirits had told him that too much power can corrupt the user, but foolish Oaken did not believe them. Power had gotten him this far, so how could it be bad, he wondered. Oaken challenged the spirits, a challenge he should never had accepted. The spirits accepted his challenge, and set a sort of Druidic curse upon him. Every so often, his animal forms would take over his physical being, leaving only his mind in his control.
Oaken, still arrogant due to his "young" age, travled far and wide still seeking power. Along his journeys, he wandered upon a nice town known as Southshore. At Soutshore he discovered a band of mercenaries known as Mercenaires of the Sun. Believing they could help him gain more power, Oaken joined immediatley.
After some occurences at Southshore(, Laurent meeting his father for those that don't know,) he realized he had to become much stronger. Soon after the occurence at Soutshore, Oaken travelled back to Moonglade to once again seek power.
Furious at his ignorance, the Spirits wiped most of his memory and tampered with his mind, making his Druidic curse become active more often, and this time he would slowly lose control of his mind. Due to the memory wipe, Oaken has no clue of his last name, where he was born and who his parents are, or who his friends were.
So Oaken traveled the world again, all of his past forgotten. In an exhuasted state due to extended travel, he wound up again at Southshore. Found by one of his previous friends, Clarey, he realized that he had forgotten his memories. Then, the Druidic curse activated. Oaken is now currently trapped in the form of a Cat. Luckily, he still has control over his mind, but it won't be long before he loses his mind to the Druidic curse. The only way to gain control over his physical being is to slay the animal spirit that matches which form he is in. Doing this task, though, is much harder than it's made out to be.
Realizing his mistakes as a Druid, he now has accepted that too much power can be harmful, and has now devoted his time to helping others. He is still growing more powerful, but at a slower pace.
Recently, while trying to save Missial, Oaken went to Moonglade and defeated the Cat Spirit, regaining control of his physical being. Now, Oaken is much stronger than he was while trapped in the form of a cat.
During a visit to Moonglade to ask the spirits for forgivness, he stumbled upon a secret to life. This secret can preserve life . . . and it can be reversed. This dangerous secret can destroy life, but at a cost. If Oaken uses this special ability, he will die.
